Grove Lane SE25.

A substantial rear extension connecting the two existing patios was added to the existing fabric of this stunning neoclassical Grade II villas dating 1821.

The client approached us with the request of enlarging the existing space dedicated to the kitchen and maximise daylight for this area.

We produced a few studies based on the idea of using a generous amount of glass, both facing a very pretty landlocked garden and the sky. Large sliding doors and two glass roofs were added, a palette of polished concrete floor, oak joinery and Carrara marble defined the area of work and leisure.

The material palette was informed by the desire to achieve a simple yet elegant atmosphere. Their large dogs informed the choice of a polished concrete floor throughout.
